This is a latest generation i5 CPU powered machine with 8GB RAM. As such, you're not going to get the same performance out of it as the latest generation i7 running against 16GB of RAM. However, it was specified as a gaming machine by Dell originally. You should Google the graphics card it has on board and find out how good it is. For the money, it seems like a good fast machine though and the sound, in particular, is excellent! But as with everything in life, you get what you pay for. Best Buy has a 14-day return policy so you could, in theory, return it, but probably not if you've installed anything on it. Hope that helps!
