External Hard Drives use a USB connection. This particular computer has several (I believe, 6) USB ports. So yes, you can connect an external hard drive.

You can connect via USB3. If you want to connect with sata to the mother board you will need a power supply to connect it to. The built in powersupply doent have another power connection for a hard drive.
