Unless you buy a "hardened" laptop (the kind made for military and construction) you won't find a new, current portable with either. Have you got $5,000 you don't need, 'cause that is what those will cost you. Optical reader/writers are old tech, slow, and vastly inferior to flash drives in capacity. Plus most people use cloud storage or download software as needed. You can still get EXTERNAL devices, for under $30.

No, Optical Disc Drive option is not available to accommodate the slim form factor of the laptop and disc drives are very rare in latest generation laptops.
