Yes, you can extend desktop of your Mac laptop to this monitor (or have it mirrored, if you wish). It is OS feature.

Please try again later.Once you connect Macbook from mini-display port from the Mac with an HDMI cable to the monitor you will be able to setup to project different sites or apps either on mac or on the monitor. You have to go to System Preferences/Display on your Mac and then click on Arrange window and setup how ever you like. It's not only mirroring option available.
