Note that the VESA mount is kind of set into the back of the monitor (almost an inch at the bottom). My setup (Vivo brand)has a base that attaches to the VESA mount. Then the monitor and base drops down onto the stand. Because the base is inset, it would not mount without loosening the screws holding the base on, and this was using the spacer to hold the base 1/4" from the mounting holes. It is a headache, but the mount does work.
