Audio out is 3.5mm, correct. The audio source is through Display Port or HDMI I believe, so you should be able to hook a stereo up to the 3.5mm with the correct cable. If possible, however, I would recommend plugging the stereo directly into the computer/console you're playing your games on. The 3.5mm plug on the monitor is more of a convenience for desk speakers or headphones, so it might not have the best quality audio.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I can answer your first question: yes, it's a 3.5mm jack. The user manual says, "Analog 2.0 audio line out (3.5mm jack)." Sorry I don't have the smarts to answer the p2 question. The monitor does have two USB 3.0 downstream ports on the left side of the frame which require its USB 3.0 upstream port (on the back) to be connected directly to a USB port on the computer. I imagine (but can't certify) that the 3.0 ports on the monitor are backward compatible if your computer doesn't have USB 3.0. I haven't had occasion to use the USB ports on the monitor yet.
