Dear Enzo, Thank you for your question about the De'Longhi Magnifica Evo Espresso Machine. I’m happy to clarify how the internal water system works and what you can do if you need to purge water from the circuit. Yes, the Magnifica Evo is designed to keep water inside the internal circuit after brewing. This is completely normal and necessary for proper operation. Keeping the circuit full ensures that the machine is always ready for the next extraction. If the internal system were empty, the machine could draw air into the circuit, which may cause an error or prevent brewing until the circuit is refilled. If the machine sits unused for a long period of time, or if air gets into the system, you may see an alert when you try to brew. Once the water circuit is full again, the machine will resume normal operation. If this ever happens, we’ll be glad to walk you through the troubleshooting steps to refill the circuit properly. If you want to purge older water or simply clean out the internal path before moving the machine to another location, you can perform a manual hot water cycle: 1. Place a container under the hot water spout. 2. Activate hot water delivery by pressing the Hot Water icon on the display. 3. The machine will dispense about 250 ml automatically and stop. If you need to completely empty the tank before transport, you may press the hot water button again until the water tank becomes empty. This helps refresh the internal system and ensures clean water is circulating.
