Hello. The recommended way to connect a new Samsung TV to the AVR-S970H is to purchase an optional HDMI cable. The HDMI cable will connect to the Samsung TV's e/ARC port and to the AVR-S970H's e/ARC port on the rear panel. This will allow for the audio from to the TV to be fed to your AVR-S970H when you select the AVR-S970H's input labeled 'TV'. It is also a good idea to check your TV's audio settings to make sure the Digital Audio Output is set to either 'Auto' or 'Bitstream'.
