Hello. As with all modern AVR's, the AVR-S970 has a line-up (non-powered) subwoofer feed. This is because most modern subwoofers are highly variable in their power requirements and subsequently have their own amplifier built-in. Therefore, the wattage rating you seek is found in the specifications of the powered subwoofer. If you have a passive subwoofer (typically for in-wall use for those looking to save space), we recommend speaking with the manufacturer of that subwoofer about which optional power amplifier would be suitable to drive it.
