Hello. The earliest of HDMI cables are 1080p compliant, so the problem could reside within your HDMI cabling. This sounds like it could be an HDCP issue. The way to tell if this is the case is to upgrade to HDMI Version 2.1 cables. In particular, cables from brands like Audioquest, Metra/Ethereal, Vanco and Celerity. These brands make what have proven for us to be dependable cables with the newest technologies. We have had much better results with these brands over (for example) the Amazon Basics and Monoprice cables.
