• Yes. I run 7 speakers in my dining room on one zone and 2 on my outside porch on another zone. Only need to add an amp if you want to run 11.2 setup.

• Correct, use 2 of the onboard amplified channels to power another zone. Download the HEOS app to control zone 2 volume and source with a smart phone. A 7.2 Atmos system and zone 2 is possible. Play a movie in the main zone and music in the dining room.
