“The back of the box list Canon Battery BP-718 & BP-727. My Vixia HFR82 video camera came with the BP-727 and I was sold a BP-718 as a spare battery. However, the back of the box states "for use with the following camera models" the HFR82 is not listed?”

I cannot say 100%, but I believe there may only be a minor difference, perhaps in capacity between the BP-718 and BP-727. I would do a Google search and see if anything shows up. Otherwise, compare the distance and location of the tabs on the battery, along with the dimensions. That should tell you for sure. Hope this helps.....
