It should work. I have the I phone 12 Pro Max with iOS 14.4.2.

Yes. You only need the phone to activate and perform firmware updates. Unlike other DJI drones, you don't need your phone to fly this thing! Once set up, you switch on the drone, the goggles, and the controller, and off you go.
