Yes. The software does not have to be used or linked to work. It will also take pics and video through the device buttons.

Yes you can. You'll just have to manually turn on your camera app, and record. I don't think you can use the record button on the gimble to record using your native camera app. But you can definitely use the gimble with your camera app of choice.

You can, but won’t get full functionality. The triggers will work, but any app/software integration won’t be available without the app.

Yes, you can use either, factory camera App or DJI's App, at least with the iPhone.
