• Yes. The software does not have to be used or linked to work. It will also take pics and video through the device buttons.

• Yes you can. You'll just have to manually turn on your camera app, and record. I don't think you can use the record button on the gimble to record using your native camera app. But you can definitely use the gimble with your camera app of choice.

• Yes. But the DJI app camera has some really cool features.

• You can, but won’t get full functionality. The triggers will work, but any app/software integration won’t be available without the app.

• Yes, you can use either, factory camera App or DJI's App, at least with the iPhone.
