The spongy stickers that came with the gimbal can be stuck on the Magnetic base to help hold your phone into place. Sorry, don't have a better picture but they would go on the red circled area. They aren't necessary unless you have a very thin phone.

Thus, the anti-slip pads can be used to keep the phone from unwanted movements such as falling down from the clamp.
