It’s face/person tracking. It may work with a person wearing a full helmet but very unlikely to work with a person in a helmet concealed by a car driving away.

Yes, DJI Osmo Mobile series gimbals support Intelligent Follow (ActiveTrack), which allows you to follow a moving subject like a race car, depending on the model and shooting conditions. Here are several ways to activate the tracking function: Trigger Button Activation (for Osmo Mobile models supported by the DJI Mimo app): Press the trigger button once to start tracking the selected subject. Screen Selection: In the DJI Mimo app’s camera interface, simply draw a box around the race car on the screen, and the system will begin following it. Gesture Control: Face the phone’s camera and use a palm or “V” gesture to start tracking and recording automatically. Smart Recognition (available on Osmo Mobile 7 and Osmo Mobile 7P): These models can recognize multiple subjects. Tap the target on the screen to start following, and you can switch subjects by tapping another frame. Multifunction Tracking Module (for Osmo Mobile 7 and 7P): When used with the DJI OM Magnetic Phone Clamp and the Multifunction Tracking Module, simply show a palm gesture to the module’s lens to activate tracking. Feel free to let us know if you have any questions during setup. We are here to help.
