Hi, i also bought the Insignia soundbar. I found that two of the soundbars did not accept the optical cord and I could only get sound through using the red/white cable. But one did accept the cable. It was a bit hit or miss. But truthfully, I did seem to nice any difference in sound between the cables and the optical cable.
