They will protect for years. Surge protectors do not need to be replaced annually.

Take a look at the two lights, and see, closest to the "Dynex" logo, the one for "PROTECTED" When the internal spark gaps are exhausted (Metal Oxide Varistor, actually), the built-in tester shows it has reached it's limit of spikes.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The surge protectors have a fuse inside and once there has been a surge in the power influx the fuse inside is blown, no more protection. I have heard you can replace the fuse, but it’s better to just replace the whole surge protector.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.From what I heard personally each surgery protector is only good for a couple of surges and can fault out if not watched. That is usually why like your information to change them annually just to make sure. I haven't done it except for major item.
