• As far as I know it has nothing to do with USB. It is just a connection for computers that don't have an HDMI port to connect to a monitor with the HDMI port. Most newer PCs don't have HDMI ports it seems. It's purely a visual signal connector, I guess. BTW you still need an HDMI cord!
