• This adapter will carry any signal sent. Your answer will be dependent on whether your device can output audio through the Display port connection

• When it works, it will carry both video and audio. However, for various reasons, it may not work (Google this for a more thorough explanation). Buy an ACTIVE adapter and you should be OK Just add the word "active" to the title of this item and do a search on Best Buy.
