“How long is the fixed mounting portion of this set? Assume it’s around 32 in in order to pick up three studs. Is this corrrct? I have a back that protrudes and had a tube tv recessed in previously. That section is 36 in wide”

It's only about 18" and crosses and mounts into two studs, not three.
