• No, configuration is required. It is wired (No bluetooth). That button is to take pictures. Just connect the phone & click that button.

• You plug the little cable into the auxiliary port (like you would headphones) and then that button takes the picture. There was no configuring. I just plugged it in, turned on the camera app and started taking pics.
