• It's only a handle--there's no button to take the picture. So you'd have to use one of three options: 1) Set the timer, 2) Use voice commands, or 3) use a remote control (either the remote accessory or the phone app).

• You can use the stick or the handle (?) to take a picture with the camera. You can make videos too! It's really groovy.

• It is only a handle, you have to take the pic manually, unless you have a Hero 5 or 6 and then you have voice control.

• You can but you need the usb cable that they do not include with it.

• The selfie stick is for holding the camera, but does not have controls for the camera.
