“I live part of the year in the United States (120V electricity) and part of the year in Hong Kong (220V). Would it work better to buy a US model and use a converter in Hong Kong or should I buy a Hong Kong model and use a converter in the US?”

Hi Ryan, I am curious what you ended up choosing, as I am having the same issue where I spend half the year in the US and half the year in Europe (also 220). What did you decide and has it still worked for you? Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you

Dyson products are designed specifically for the countries in which they are made for and sold in, and machines manufactured for the United States are designed solely for 110-120v electricity. It is because of this fact that we are unable to have the machine converted to meet the specific country electrical code and laws. In order to use the machine in a different country a power converter would be needed. However, we do not recommend using a converter, as the unit will not perform at the normal expected life of a Dyson product. Please be aware that use of your machine outside of the country which it was purchased may void your warranty.
