the vacuum has a 3 level system and one shows a totally smooth surface i would set it to that and it will bring the suction as close to the floor as possible. i use it on hard wood and tile with great results. If your worried about the brush possibly scuffing or scratching the marble you can turn the brush system off so it doesn't rotate.
