I've had mine for a few years and I have not replaced anything yet. Although I do clean it about twice a year. There's a sock-like filter that can be rinsed in water. I do rinse the canister but I am very careful not to get water on the integrated filters. I do this out on my porch because the dust goes everywhere however I do manage to collect most of it in a small bag. Then I leave it all out in the sunshine to dry off. I also treat the rubber seals with Armorall.
