• My wife has two long hair cats that never seem to stop shedding. After my last vacuum gave out because of that fact, a month or so went by before I could get this vacuum. Some parts of my carpet got pretty bad with cat hair, but the Dyson picked it up like it was nothing. I expect it will work as well with dog hair.

• Yes, we have 2 animals and it works great for hair. The real difference between the animal variety and this is the attachments.

• We have a Yellow Lab. She drops hair constantly. The power of the Dyson makes easy work of her sheddings. Buy it. You won't be sorry.

• This vacuum can definitely pick up dog hair. However they do make a version that is specific to animal hair and allergens that costs about $200 more.

• My wife an I owned a Hoover Pet vacuum before the Dyson. Dyson's suction is 10x what the Hoover was. I believe Dyson also offers a pet vacuum.
