• Hi Bonnie. It's Vince with Dyson. The Ball Multi-Floor is designed with an auto adjusting base plate that helps the unit perform on differing carpet and floor types. You can deactivate the brush bar for your more sensitive carpets and floorings as well. Best wishes, Vince P.
