That is the one downfall of the Dyson Vacuums. They do not do well on high pile carpet. We have lower pile carpets and they are excellent for them. Our thickest/highest carpet pile is in the bedroom and the Dyson head will sometimes stop in this room if you are not moving it quickly enough across the pile. It can get bogged down and is hard to push on the higher piles, even given the adjustable head.

Many owners have had more success with this model on thicker carpeting, than with other Dyson machines that have stronger suction.
