Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. This particular hose is not compatible, nor would it attach to your Dyson V8. We do offer a smaller flexible extension hose that can be used with our cord-free machines. You'll also notice on your machine that the tools and attachments have a red tab, which is what you'll be looking for in replacement parts or tools. If your local retailer does not have the flexible extension hose for the V8, it can be purchased direct with Dyson. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
