• The fan will continue to run providing some passive air filtering when the water tank is empty but since there is no water, it cannot add humidity to the air. When the tank is empty and you try to turn on the humidity, you are notified that water needs to be added. Also, the smart phone app will notify you that water is needed.

• When the water is gone, the fan will continue to function and will filter the air. But without water it cannot perform the humidify functions. It will tell you that water must be added when you try to turn on the humidity and the tank is empty.
