• From the Dyson Website - this unit "uses Dyson’s advanced evaporative technology. Water is placed onto a biostatic woven mesh evaporator and air is used to convert that water into water vapor so fine that it is invisible. This also means it can’t carry particles or bacteria with it, providing a healthier environment."

• Evaporator. Has kits (citric acid powder) for deep cleaning/removing mineral build-up from inside the machine. Good stuff to be able to let the system do the cleaning, no fuss no muss. Hope this helps. It's a great machine, love mine.
