Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. This is a great question! This machine can connect to either a 2.4GHz or 5GHz network, which includes mot modern routers. The latest Dyson Link App does require either an iOS device with at least iOS version 9, or an Android device with at least Android version 5. The App isn't configured for tablet use, but it may still connect/function. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
