A:Answer Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. Dyson purifiers are scientifically tested to capture particles as small as allergens and viruses. You'll be happy to know that during testing, cigarette smoke was specifically tested to help determine the filter life and whole room purification. From these results 99.97% of allergens and pollutants as small as 0.3 microns are removed from the air.
CADR, which stands for Clean Air Delivery Rate, is the volume of filtered air delivered by a purifier in a given time frame. This measurement does not represent the quality of the air leaving the unit, only how much. For this reason we feel that it is largely irrelevant. This does not in any way represent a machine's ability to effectively mix the purified air with the ambient air in the room. CADR testing is performed in an empty room, with a ceiling fan simulating air movement - this is not indicative of the live environment our products are used in. Our product has a lower CADR – but actually projects the air much further than other products, features better filtration, and more effectively mixes the air in the room
Best wishes,
Kelly
