This is another variation of the ‘whole room purification test’, but is a test run by AHAM (Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers). Cigarettes are burnt in a room and the decay in particle count is measured at certain point. After calculation, a number is produced in cubic feet per minute to determine the Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) of the purifier fan. The higher the number, the more purified air is produced in cubic feet each minute. CADR smoke test: Dyson - 71 cfm; others - c. 200 cfm. Thanks for your interest in Dyson technology! Best wishes, Tia Dyson Customer Support
