It is recommended you use water that is less hard/mineralized as it keeps you from cleaning it as often. But tap is doable. This is not the heated option and is instead the most advanced filtering option for those with extreme allergies or asthma sensitivity.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use tap water. There is nothing that I saw to tell you to use filtered water. I have wondered the same thing. The "mist" isn't really detectible like other room humidifiers. It is not warm, I would say it is room temperature.
