Q: QuestionHello , it says on the dryer that it's 120v , I want to use it in Europe , when trying with a converter from 110 to 220 it cuts off and shuts is there such a thing as a converter from 120 to 220 ?
Asked by Ramsino.
This question was asked about the related product: Dyson - Supersonic Limited Edition Mother's Day Hair Dryer - Fuchsia/iron
- A:Answer I think all you need is an "adapter" not a "converter" for the foreign countries you are visiting, I believe this hair dryer will accept either 120 or 220v, but check w/ Dyson to be sure. The label on the dryer should state which voltages are acceptable.

Q: QuestionCan you use a UK purchased Dyson Supersonic hairdryer in Brisbane Australia as their voltage 230v?
Asked by Rose.
This question was asked about the related product: Dyson - Supersonic Hair Dryer - Iron/Fuchsia
- A:Answer Yes the UK and AU use the exact same power standards, you only need a plug converter. A good quality UK to AU plug would be best as the Hairdryer uses a lot of power. So make sure it is a good quality adapter so it don’t melt. Same applies to Europe however they use 230 not 240 like the UK and AU. While the standard was changed a while ago only the label was changed. Meter tests have shown that the UK still uses 240. But 230 is not really that much less compared to 120 in the US where the system should really have been upgraded decades ago.

Q: QuestionI have just bought a Dyson Air Styler for £399.99 in UK. Can I use it in Spain?
Asked by Juno.
This question was asked about the related product: Dyson - Supersonic Hair Dryer - Iron/Fuchsia
- A:Answer Hello Juno, this is Kelly with Dyson. Dyson products are designed specifically for the countries in which they are made for and sold in, and machines manufactured for the United States are designed solely for 110-120v electricity. (Just as a machine purchased in the UK, would be designed for use in the UK). It is because of this fact that we are unable to have the machine converted to meet the specific country electrical code and laws. In order to use the machine in a different country a power converter would be needed. However, we do not recommend using a converter, as the unit will not perform at the normal expected life of a Dyson product. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support

Dyson products are designed specifically for the countries in which they are made for and sold in. It is because of this fact that we are unable to have the machine converted to meet the specific country electrical code and laws. - A:Answer Hi Grace, this is Carissa with Dyson. We value your interest in Dyson technology. We want to make you aware Dyson's are not dual voltage, the US voltage is 110/120v and if used with a converter we are not able to guarantee the life of the unit and we cannot ship outside the US. Q: QuestionIs there one that works for both Uk 240v 50hz and japan 100v 60hz?
Asked by neil.
- A:Answer Hi Neil, this is Kelly with Dyson. Our Dyson Supersonic is not dual-voltage. Dyson products are designed specifically for the countries in which they are made for and sold in, and machines manufactured for the United States are designed solely for 110-120v electricity. It is because of this fact that we are unable to have the machine converted to meet the specific country electrical code and laws. In order to use the machine in a different country a power converter would be needed. However, we do not recommend using a converter, as the unit will not perform at the normal expected life of a Dyson product. Please be aware that use of your machine outside of the country which it was purchased may void your warranty. This is outlined under the Terms and Conditions of the warranty under the What is Not Covered section in the operating manual. I hope this helps. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support

Q: QuestionIs this hair dryer also available as a 220 V model? I would like to take it to Europe with me.
Asked by Anonymous.
This question was asked about the related product: Dyson - Supersonic Hair Dryer - Iron/Fuchsia
- A:Answer You must purchase in the area where you’ll use it; Dyson manufactures each one specifically for its voltage availability. It requires so much voltage that Dyson does not recommend using an adapter. And it’s pretty heavy, so either take a lighter adaptable one or buy one there.

Q: QuestionHi Can the hairdryer be fixed if I didn’t know I needed a Converter when travelling to Europe .
Asked by Misschardonnay.
This question was asked about the related product: Dyson - Supersonic Hair Dryer - Iron/Fuchsia
- A:Answer Hi there, this is Krystal with Dyson. Using the machine in another country where the voltage is not the same, a power converter would be needed and we do not recommend using as it can damage the motor. If the motor is damaged, it is likely un-repairable and would need to be replaced. Feel free to contact us at [email protected] and we will be happy to confirm. Best Wishes, Krystal Dyson Customer Support
