A:Answer I would not use the Dyson Cool Air to replace an air conditioner. While the unit is a very effective air purifier, it does not have a compressor and therefore, does not provide the cooling function like an air conditioner unit would. It does not dehumidify and it does not lower the temperature of a room. Dyson's use of the term "Cool Air" simply means it's not heated air (some of their units do heat the air). It does provide a cooling effect, however, but it's the same cooling effect you would feel if a standard room fan were blowing on you. This unit's claim du fame is its air purification capabilities . . . not its room cooling capabilities.
