Hi Dan, this is Kelly with Dyson. The V11 Animal does offer three modes of suction power, to easily pick up any mess in your home. If you have someone in the home with longer hair, or even pets, you will likely need to maintain the brush bar of your machine more often, as hair can accumulate there, and if left behind, can cause issues with the brush bar or brush bar motor over time. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.My wife has long hair and sheds like our labs.Lol. It does really good at picking it up but it does get caught it the beater head and when you dump the canister you have to reach up into it to pull the hair out.
