“I have a lot of hardwood flooring as well as a thick pile area rug. Will I have to change attachments depending on which part of the house I'm vacuuming? And how easy/difficult is that to do - is it a nuisance to have to keep swapping out attachments?”

You would have to change attachments. The one that has the laser is for hardwood floors and the other is for rugs and carpet. Changing between both are easy. Click in and push off.

The high torque cleaner head features anti-tangle technology. It automatically adapts suction and power to clean different floor types, and 56 polycarbonate teeth prevent hair from tangling around the bristles. The Laser Slim Fluffy head was engineered with soft nylon and anti-static carbon fiber filaments to remove dust from hard floors and narrow gaps. You can use either tool on your hard flooring, but you may wish to solely use the Fluffy head if your flooring is more delicate or if you would not typically use a brush bar on that surface.
