“Would this be safe to use on a hand-knotted wool carpet? For example, are the bristles really hard, which is damaging for that kind of material? Can it be put on a lower power setting so that it would be more gentle?”

I’m not 100 percent sure. I imagine it can be at the low setting, which it does have.

As a result, Dyson V7™ vacuums will include a brush bar with both carbon fiber, and nylon bristles for use across both surface types. Dyson V7™ vacuums will also offer two suction modes for various cleaning tasks around the home. That said, adjusting suction wont adjust the brush bar.
