“my vaccum sucks and then stops sucking about 5 secs later, then repeats while i hold down the trigger. mine is a slightly older version of the V7, is there something im missing when i clean it or is it time to replace it?”

Mine did that. You have to clean the brush part. There is a rim inside that collects the dirt.
