No, it shouldn't if you get a little bit of sand in it. I wouldn't vacuum a beach though.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Betsy, this is Kelly with Dyson. If you are vacuuming a large amount of sand, it can get clogged within the cyclone. If you do reside in a sandy area, you can certainly clean the cyclone more frequently. To do that, you can remove the clear bin from the machine and gently tap the cyclone on the edge of your garbage can. A can of compressed air can also help to blow out anything trapped inside.
