• In the book it says about 4hrs (very important to do this!!) prior to first use, after that just pay attention to the led on the base. If it's blue, it's charging if it's yellow, it's too hot to charge but will start charging as soon as it cools down. If it's blank, start cleaning.. quickly lol

• Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. If the V7's battery is complete depleted, it will take about 3.5-4 hours to full charge. You can store the machine on the wall dock and the battery will stop charging once the unit has a full charge. The battery does not have to be completely drained to replace it on the dock.
