“I currently have a Dyson animal upright vacuum, but have been looking at this one for its mobility. When I got the upright, it scratched my bamboo floors, so I had to buy a separate attachment (common issue apparently). Will I have to do that with this?”

I would recommend going directly through Dyson website and purchasing their V7 (or greater) Absolute Stick vacuum. The purchase comes with hardwood floor attachment with purchase.

The Dyson V7 Animal features a direct-drive cleaner head, with gentle carbon fiber bristles safe for any flooring type, but powerful enough to pick up debris from both care floors and carpets. While the machine will offer less run time in MAX power mode, most households find standard power sufficient for everyday messes. When using your machine in MAX with the direct-drive Motorhead, run time will be approximately 7 minutes. Dyson Animal variants come equipped with a mini motorized head which is designed to pick up pet hair from furniture and stairs.
