• First of all, it's a Dyson, not a Hoover... And no, it is not operational while plugged into the charging cable.

• Hello Amiee, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson V7 Motorhead is one of our cord-free machines, and the charging cable is only 6' long. The cord-free machines cannot be used while connected to the charger. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
