Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. All of our cord-free machines feature a spinning brush bar, which cannot be shut off. The only machines we carry where you can disable the brush bar would be our upright models. We do carry a soft roller head, which is an additional cleaner head that you can use on your V7. The soft roller was engineered specifically for bare floors. You can find that part at Dyson authorized retailers, or direct with Dyson as well. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
