YES! it will scratch your dark hardwood floor. The rotating head doesn't scratch it, but the bottom of the stick somehow does. I have to be very careful and sort of hold it up else I'm bound to get a light scratch. Good luck

I've bought the V8 a year ago and at the beginning I found the roller quite good and there was no scratching. I can surely say that now that's not the case. The soft roller has some soft material on each side (left/right) that in time gets thinner until part of the plastic touches and scratches the floor

We have black stained wood floors and there are scratches everywhere. Finally realized it's the plastic on the bottom of the head. The soft parts wear down, and the silver paint from the hard plastic comes off as it scratches the floor. Bad design!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.My V7 does. The two plastic “wheels” on the pivot joint on the floor attachment scratched my dark hardwood floors. Had to slightly lift it to prevent it from happening.
