• Yes it comes with a docking station although you don't have to use it. You can just plug the vacuum in to charge it.

• Yes, it does. Please see my pictures of 2) of my 4) V8 Absolutes showing the docking station. You are right - Dyson left this feature out of their advertising. I wondered the same until I opened the box after I bought it!
