“I am looking into purchasing this upright vacuum and have questions about using on hard floors. I have difficulty using my current vacuum on hard floors without it "shooting" out litter, sand and salt (live in midwest). Is there a setting for hard floors?”

No settings for hard wood floors. But ours cleans the laminate and the tile floors we have. Love this vacuum, Dyson
